Hello! My name is Mrs. Miriam Rico, and I am the Lead Teacher. I am thrilled to be part of the Big Pine State Preschool family. I’m currently working toward my Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Development and have been in the early childhood field for about four years, one of those years as a lead teacher, and I couldn’t be more excited to guide and inspire young learners as they explore, grow, and discover new things every day.

My journey with Big Pine State Preschool actually began as a parent. Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I believe that every child learns best through play, creativity, and hands-on experiences. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming classroom where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.

We are excited to have our instructional aide Lyriq Willis as part of our team! She has been with our agency for the past year and brings a warm, caring presence to the classroom each day. She is sweet, loving, and full of energy, creating a positive and engaging environment for all children. Her passion for early childhood education shines through in her interactions and dedication to supporting each child’s growth and development. She is currently continuing her education and is on track to apply for her Associate Teacher Permit by Fall 2026. We are proud to support her journey and grateful for the enthusiasm and heart she brings to our program.
