I grew up in Santa Paula, a small town in Ventura County, where I discovered my passion for working with children teaching dance and gymnastics before I even graduated high school.
I began my career in early childhood education in 1986 as a teacher's aide, and after I received my teaching certificate, I accepted a position teaching Kindergarten as a child development specialist with the Santa Clara Elementary School District.
I took a short break to raise my 3 children and am anxiously awaiting the birth of my first grandchild.
In my 40-year career, I have been a dance teacher, gymnastics coach, Scout leader, camp counselor, Preschool Teacher, Kindergarten Teacher, and a Center Director. I have dedicated my career to helping students in both preschool and elementary settings master the skills and concepts they need to be confident learners and build a solid foundation for future success. I am thrilled to be working in the classroom supporting our early learners at the Lone Pine State Preschool.

I have been working with young children since 2016. I worked as a private teacher's assistant for 2 years, where I realized how rewarding working with children really is. The evident growth a child is capable of making with supportive teachers makes this such a purposeful and meaningful profession.
I am currently studying early childhood education and am only a semester away from being able to apply for my Associate Teacher permit.
My philosophy on teaching is that children learn best through play and hands-on activities in an environment where they feel secure and loved. If children learn early on to enjoy the process of curiosity and discovery, this will inspire a lifelong love of learning.
I am a mom to two little ones, love to bake, and I actually attended Lone Pine State Preschool, the school I am working at now, almost 25 years ago.
